Yoga for Weight Loss and Body Conditioning
Anyone
that has ever tried to lose weight and keep it off knows the whole issue of
weight loss and maintenance is a lot more complicated than simply eating less
and exercising more! In yoga we believe that excess weight is the result of an
imbalance between the body and the mind. By practising yoga we can
rebuild that body/mind connection and in doing so begin to become more aware of
our bodies needs working towards maintaining an ideal weight. In addition, practicing yoga
regularly and conscientiously can help to shed those extra pounds and
significantly reshape your body making it balanced, flexible and strong.
This workshop introduces a number of specially designed sequences focused on
specific areas of the body to help you build a firm, toned and balanced body as
a well as a calm focused and relaxed mind, and is suitable for all abilities
but is intensive so come prepared to sweat (bring a towel and water) and laugh.
You will leave the workshop feeling energised, stronger, refreshed and with
a greater appreciation and connection to your body and equipped with a
programme that will help you achieve your weight loss goals. Duration: Full day workshop
Cost: £100
Dates: Saturday 24th April 2010, 10pm - 5pm
Post natal Yoga Workshop
Having
a baby can take its toll on both mother and child and new mums can often feel
overwhelmed by these changes. When this is coupled with societies focus
on achieving an almost instant return to pre pregnancy shape and physique, the
focus is often on the external at the expense of the repair, rest and nurturing
that is required to return the internal organs: abdominals, pelvic floor,
spine, pelvis and posture to full strength and to the appropriate position
and status post birth.
This
workshop has been designed for mums from 7 days post partum onwards (up to
15 years post partum - its never to late to strengthen and repair), and
introduces a series of gentle yet highly effective postures, sequences and
breath practices that can help a new mum to effect the necessary repair to her
body and return it to optimum strength and function post pregnancy. This workshop
is particularly effective in dealing with post natal weakened pelvic floor, Rectus
Diastus, fatigue, weakened abdominals and the aching shoulders and neck that
may result from breast feeding.
This
workshop has been specially designed to give new mums an opportunity to
reconnect with themselves, and to meet and discuss their experiences and
share their knowledge with other new mums. Participants will leave the workshop
feeling energised, stronger, refreshed and with a programme they can continue
to work on at home with their new babies to help return mothers to full
physical and emotional health.
Duration: 3 hour workshop Cost: £60.00
